MW Prayer Times Support
Answers to the most common questions. If you still need help, email [email protected] with your device model, system version and app version.
Prayer times
The times are a few minutes different from my mosque.
Open Settings › Calculation and pick the method your mosque follows, and the Asr time (Standard or Hanafi). You can also add or subtract minutes for each prayer under “Adjust times”.
I travelled and the times did not change.
With Location set to Automatic, open the app once in the new city and the times, widgets and watch update. If you chose a city by hand, the app keeps it and offers to switch when you are far away.
Azan and notifications
Why does the azan stop after 30 seconds?
iOS allows notification sounds of up to 30 seconds. When the app is open at prayer time, the full azan plays. You can also play the full azan any time from Settings › Notifications & azan.
I don’t hear the azan.
Check that notifications are allowed for MW Prayer Times in the iPhone Settings, that the ringer is on (notification sounds follow the silent switch), and that the prayer is set to “Azan” in Settings › Notifications & azan. Use “Send a test notification” there to check.
How do I snooze or mute?
Press and hold the notification and tap Snooze. To pause all prayer notifications, tap the bell on the Today screen or use the Mute page on your Apple Watch.
Widgets and Apple Watch
How do I add a widget?
Touch and hold an empty area of the Home Screen, tap Edit › Add Widget, and search for MW Prayer Times. For the Lock Screen, touch and hold the Lock Screen and tap Customize.
My watch shows no times.
Open the app on your iPhone once after setting your location; the watch gets it within a minute. Then add a complication by editing your watch face.
Something isn’t working. What should I do?
Make sure you have the latest version from the App Store (it needs iOS 17 or later), then close the app and open it again. If it still doesn’t work, email us with your device model, iOS version and what happened.
